Training

We strongly believe literature is vital to the teaching of literacy and English, so our training is always book-based - whether it is grammar, guided reading, poetry, phonics or spelling. The training we run complements the planning sequences we have written for all year groups, available on our website.

All our training combines both practical ideas and the pedagogy behind them, immersing delegates within the theme of the book, taking them on a journey through a text whilst drawing upon drama techniques and props to bring a book alive, all whilst covering the requirements of the national curriculum.

Our training supports teachers to build subject knowledge of curriculum requirements, gather ideas for how to teach some of the trickier objectives, whilst coming away with a new book or two!

All our courses support the Reading for Pleasure agenda and strengthen teacher’s knowledge of how to use text in the classroom.

Each delegate receives a Literacy Tree tote bag with resources and the books for each course.

Courses begin at 9:30 and finish around 3.45pm.
