Introduction to the Literary Curriculum
An hour's webinar for school leaders looking to take this approach on in their school.
This webinar will cover –
- How the award-winning Literary Curriculum provides coverage of the contents of the entire programme of study for English, including spelling and reading comprehension
- An overview of the books used within the Literary Curriculum and what impact a book-based curriculum can have
- How we create meaningful contexts for writing using children's literature by through use of the 'Teach Through a Text' approach
- Why this approach has helped schools with achieving cohesive whole school curriculum coverage
We will do this by –
- Giving delegates the opportunity to look at children's writing outcomes where the Literary Curriculum has been used
- Explore how the 'Teach through a Text' approach, can be used effectively within the teaching of English
- Look briefly at all the resources available to teachers, including Literary Leaves, RATE and Spelling Seeds
