Please book with confidence that all our courses will run within the guidelines of any recommendations made regarding social distancing at this point in time. We are planning to run these courses in the Literacy Tree training space which is cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. If it is not possible to run these courses in the normal manner, we will be taking them online and will ensure any training resources, including books, are available for delegates to pick up from the space at a distance before the course takes place. Where it is not possible for a delegate to pick up their books and resources we will try our best to arrange a delivery.

 

Teaching Spelling and Vocabulary in Y5 and Y6

A half-day course, run by literacy consultants, examining how spelling and vocabulary can be embedded and applied within text

This course will –

• Identify teacher subject knowledge of spelling requirements in upper key stage two

• Explore where explicit teaching of vocabulary can support knowledge of spelling

• Consider how to plan and assess for spelling requirements

• Demonstrate a variety of engaging activities that can be applied to planning spelling in context, using high quality text
